CTAP Region IV to Close June 30, 2009 |
|
Effective July 1, 2009 CTAP Region IV will no longer be in operation. The seven county office of education superintendents in this region have decided to take advantage of the flexibility option for Tier 3 categorical programs in the state budget and will, instead, be using the funding to support services in each county.
The staff members in CTAP Region IV would like to express our gratitude to the educators and business partners that we have worked with during the past 14 years. Please take a moment to view A tribute to CTAP 4.
We are collaborating with the other CTAP regions to shift some of our web resources to the state CTAP Website, which will officially launch in July 2009 and will continue to update content we have developed in the region.
After June 30, the contacts for services previously received through CTAP are the Assistant Superintendents in each County Office of Education listed below. Once the state budget is approved, they will be putting staff into place to carry on the work at the county level.
Alameda County: Naomi Williams Contra Costa County: Susan Magnone Marin County: Susan Spain Napa County: Jan Sabo San Francisco County: Francisca Sanchez San Mateo County: Gary Waddell Solano County: Rob Phillips |

Revised EETT-C Round 8 RFA Posted! |
|
The California Department of Education recently posted additional information about Round 8 of the Enhancing Education Through Technology competitive grant (EETT-C), including a REVISED RFA (request for application) and the eligibility list at its EETT-C website. Application are due on July 30, 2009 at 5:00 PM.
The primary goal of the competitive EETT program is to provide funding for grades 4-8 to assist eligible districts and schools to utilize technology to enhance teaching and to promote learning. EETT competitive grants will make $300 per student available to support technology in schools. If an individual school has received full EETT Competitive funding in any prior year, that school may not be funded in Round 8.
CTAP Region IV hosted informational meetings on April 1 and 3 at Contra Costa, Alameda, and San Mateo COEs for districts and direct-funded charter schools that may be eligible in Round 8. Once the eligibility list and the RFA was posted, CTAP 4 contact all districts and charter school that are eligible in round 8. The application due date is July 30, 2009.
An additional support workshop is scheduled for June 17, 2009 at the Alameda County Office of Education. Registration required: Click here to register.
For more information contact Micheline LeBlanc, Region 4 Program Director. Visit the Region 4 EETT-C round 8 website for application resources. |

Big Changes for 08-09 EETT Formula |
|
With the release of the new RFA for EETT Formula grants, new changes in the ways funds are distributed are most striking. The following is from page 6 of the 08-09 EETT Formula RFA:
Effective for this grant award, CDE will no longer advance 85 percent of the award. EETT Formula Grant awards will be fully paid on a reimbursement basis upon the receipt and approval of an EOP Report, certifying that 100 percent of the funds were expended in accordance with the grant requirements.
